Among the challenges mentioned by the minister are difficulties in filling vacancies, the need to adapt training to productive demands, talent attraction and retention, and generational renewal.
González highlighted the new Comprehensive Plan for the Improvement of Prevention, Labor Well-being, and Healthy Return to Work in Galicia 2026-2029, resulting from an agreement between the Xunta, the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Galicia (CEG), and UGT-Galicia. The plan includes 37 measures aimed at strengthening prevention, improving the work environment, and facilitating return to work after an absence.
Planned actions include reinforcing the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health of Galicia (Issga), measures to improve the work climate, and the launch of the Coida Peme program, which will offer voluntary and confidential psychological and musculoskeletal care services for company staff. The plan also foresees supporting the replacement of workers in micro-enterprises and self-employed individuals during long-term temporary incapacity periods.
The minister emphasized the importance of labor well-being policies considering the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises, which are fundamental to the productive fabric.
He reiterated the Xunta's commitment to continue working with business organizations, through dialogue and cooperation, to advance useful solutions that contribute to business competitiveness and the improvement of working conditions.
