The Lugo City Council has established the first Police Coordination Table provided for in the Protocol of collaboration and coordination between State Security Forces and Corps and the Local Police for the protection of victims of gender violence (Viogén).
In the meeting held this morning, attended by representatives from the National Police, the Government Sub-delegation, and the Local Police, it was agreed to hold another meeting in early 2027. It was also proposed to incorporate the regional police and representatives from the Women's Information Center (CIM) to the table, as well as to create intersectoral tables with social services.
The establishment of this Table fulfills the provisions of section IV, “Coordination Bodies,” of the protocol promoted by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and the Ministry of the Interior, to which the Lugo City Council formally adhered on May 5, 2025. The objective is to promote coordinated and effective care for victims of gender violence.
