The Xunta de Galicia has recorded an increase in users on the Conecta Line between A Coruña and Lugo, doubling the initial forecast and reaching 80,000 passengers in its first year of operation.

The Minister of Presidency, Justice, and Sports, Diego Calvo, highlighted today in the Parliament of Galicia the success of the Conecta Line, launched by the Xunta in January 2025. The demand forecast was 40,000 people, but the first year of operation closed with 80,000 users, double the expectation.
Calvo stated that the data demonstrate the substantial improvement this line represents for mobility between the two cities, offering more services, more direct connections, more buses, and with more seats. On weekdays, there are 19 buses per direction (16 from the Conecta Line), providing 2,100 seats daily. On weekends, there are eight buses (six from the Conecta Line), totaling 940 seats each day. Furthermore, 80% of services use buses with 54 or more seats, generally ensuring that the offered capacity meets existing demand.
Regarding specific dates when capacity was reached, the minister reported that reinforcements were activated. He also emphasized the planning and monitoring work carried out on different routes and frequencies to adjust schedules and routes as much as possible to the changing mobility needs of users.
The minister referred to the Galician Public Transport Plan as a living plan that, despite technical and budgetary limitations, has room and capacity for adaptation to citizens' needs. He also clarified that, at specific times, it may not be possible to meet all demand, as is also the case with other public transport when they reach full capacity.
