The Soutomaior City Council presented the accessibility improvement project in the Aranza neighborhood, with an initial investment of 200,000 euros planned for early 2027, which will allow more than half of the population to have access for emergency vehicles.

The meeting, held on October 15, included the mayor, Manu Lourenzo; the Councilor for Works, Pablo Garrido; and the engineers from the company ENURCOIN, Enrique Urcola and Quique Urcola. The meeting served to explain the planned actions and gather the residents' needs.
The first phase of the works, with an investment of 200,000 euros, will begin in early 2027. This intervention will significantly improve accessibility, ensuring that more than half of Aranza's residents can be reached by emergency vehicles.
Mayor Manu Lourenzo highlighted the importance of the action to address a fundamental resident demand, emphasizing the need to improve safety and guarantee access for emergency services. He also stressed the value of resident contributions in adapting the project to the neighborhood's reality.
The project includes widening paths, improving the road surface, setting back walls, and new signage. These measures aim to increase road safety, facilitate daily commutes, and improve access for ambulances and other emergency services.
