The A Estrada Council now has the necessary funds to begin the renovation of the Liñares River Beach, also known as Praia de Porta Pousada, with an investment of 400,000 euros from the Xunta de Galicia.

The Xunta Council has authorized the signing of the collaboration agreement between Turismo de Galicia and the A Estrada Council for this initiative. The regional contribution of 400,000 euros is in addition to the 1.1 million from the Provincial Council and the 71,383 euros from the Council itself, included in a loan purpose modification approved in a recent extraordinary plenary session.
With this complete funding, the Council will begin the tendering process so that works can start as soon as possible, aiming for the beach to be ready in the early months of 2027. The project seeks to improve the current conditions of this unique recreational space linked to the river environment, located in a natural setting close to the urban center.
The works include improving the exterior fencing with a sidewalk, treating existing paths with gravel pavement, and enhancing accessibility and mobility between different areas. New pedestrian paths and a river walk will also be created via an elevated wooden walkway along the existing oak grove.
Furthermore, the project includes work on existing buildings to make them attractive for hospitality businesses.
