The Coto Manguelo Cultural Association, the historic pandereteiras group Leilía, and the artisan company Eferro are the recipients of the 2026 San Martiño Linguistic Normalization Awards, promoted by the A Estrada City Council. The ceremony will take place on November 12th at the Teatro Principal.

The Board of the San Martiño Awards, promoted by the A Estrada City Council, announced its decision for this year's call. The awards recognize work in favor of the Galician language in three areas: the Tabeirós-Terra de Montes region, the Galician scope, and a lifetime achievement.
In the Tabeirós-Terra de Montes Region category, the award goes to the Coto Manguelo Cultural Association. Founded in the early 2000s, this non-profit entity has stood out for its revitalization of community life and the promotion of culture and language in rural A Estrada, organizing projects such as the Manguelo Folk festival and the Amateur Theater Exhibition.
The award for All of Galicia goes to Leilía, the historic pandereteiras group that concluded three and a half decades of musical performance in 2024. Considered a pioneering group in traditional and folk music from Galicia, they compiled and disseminated traditional pieces through their concerts and albums.
Finally, the Lifetime Achievement award recognizes the Cruceño artisan firm Eferro, led by artisan Elena Ferro Lamela. This family business, founded in 1915, is known for its work with traditional wooden clogs, serving as a tool against rural depopulation and in defense of popular culture. Elena Ferro continues the family legacy with innovations, marketing her products internationally and receiving the National Craftsmanship Award in 2019.
The jury was composed of Lucía Seoane Rosende, Iván Sanmartín Eirín, José Parada Caramés, Henrique Vázquez Pernas, Xosé Lueiro Lemos, and María Sanmartín Ruzo, who served as secretary.
