The Mayor of Teo, Lucía Calvo de la Uz, and the Director of Fundación ONCE, Mar Medeiros, signed an agreement to promote employment for people with disabilities in the municipality.

The Teo City Council and Fundación ONCE, through Inserta Empleo, have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at promoting employment for people with disabilities in the municipality. The Mayor, Lucía Calvo de la Uz, and the Director of Social Marketing and Agreements at Fundación ONCE and Director of the Area of Companies, Alliances, CSR-D at Inserta Empleo, Mar Medeiros, formalized this agreement which seeks to improve job placement and universal accessibility.
The mayor highlighted that these initiatives benefit job placement, universal accessibility, and the co-design of inclusive social policies, positioning Teo as an administration committed to the Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She also noted that social cohesion is improved and vulnerable groups are given priority attention.
For her part, Mar Medeiros emphasized the importance of alliances between public administrations and specialized entities to build more inclusive environments. "With this agreement, we will promote not only the incorporation of people with disabilities into the labor market but also initiatives that favor universal accessibility and the full participation of all people in the economic and social life of Teo," she added.
The agreement, co-financed by the European Union, establishes a framework for collaboration to improve the employment situation of people with disabilities through training, recruitment, referral, guidance, and placement programs. One of the objectives is to raise awareness among citizens, social agents, and institutions about the capabilities of people with disabilities, promoting their incorporation into the labor market and encouraging businesses to invest in young talent.
Furthermore, the agreement includes collaboration with the associative fabric of Teo to channel the provision of services to people with disabilities and dissemination actions to publicize the initiatives being carried out.
