The municipalities of Ames and Brión are launching a new Integrated Employment Program between October 2026 and October 2027, with a subsidy of €230,000 from the Consellería de Emprego, Comercio e Emigración.

The program, co-financed by the municipalities themselves, has the main objective of ensuring that at least 40% of the participating individuals find employment, a target that has already been surpassed in previous editions. To register, interested parties must be registered as job seekers, reside in either municipality, and belong to specific groups such as those under 30, over 52, recipients of benefits, unemployed women, long-term unemployed, or migrants.
Integrated employment programs in Galicia are designed to improve employability and facilitate the labor insertion of unemployed workers. They mandatorily include actions such as information, orientation, counseling, training, coaching, emotional intelligence, motivation techniques, sociolaboral skills, interview workshops, entrepreneurship promotion, and business prospecting. Job matching, non-labor professional internships in companies, and workshops on labor mobility will also be conducted.
Participants will be able to train in sectors such as commerce, warehousing, logistics, leisure and free time, tourism, administration, and dependency care. Additionally, they will receive transversal training in new technologies like IT and Artificial Intelligence, English, food hygiene and handling, first aid, social and communication skills, motivation, and personal branding. They will also have individualized tutorials and the opportunity to undertake internships in local companies.
Participants will be entitled to a daily allowance of €10 for attending program activities and will receive aid for work-life balance. Activities will take place at the Ames Training and Employment Center and the Milladoiro Multifunctional Center.
In the 2025-2026 edition, which concluded on October 14th, over 50% of participants secured employment contracts, exceeding the 40% insertion target. Five sectoral training pathways were developed, along with transversal training in English, forklift operation, food hygiene and handling, and first aid, among others.
