The Poio Council is convening residents of Combarro, Chancelas, and Samieira for an information meeting on Thursday, November 5th, at 8:00 PM to explain the Xunta de Galicia's project to build a pedestrian path on the PO-308.

The objective of this meeting is to explain in detail the timeline and characteristics of an initiative that will contribute to improving road safety, accessibility, and mobility between the parishes of Combarro and Samieira.
The meeting will be held at the facilities of the Comunidad de Montes de Combarro and will be open to all residents. The mayor of Poio, Ángel Moldes, will be present, along with representatives and technicians from the Xunta de Galicia.
Ángel Moldes highlighted that the project will significantly improve accessibility and transit, responding to a long-standing demand from residents and continuing the coastal path. He emphasized that it is a "very realistic initiative, developed with great sensitivity, taking into account the area's reality and the needs residents have been conveying for years".
The mayor also recalled that in the coming days, work will begin on the renovation of the port of Covelo, an action that will complement the new path and improve safety and mobility in the area. "We want all residents to be able to travel safely along the PO-308 and also enjoy the improvement of the entire Covelo pier area", he stated.
The new pedestrian and cycle path will be 2.5 kilometers long and aims to improve road safety and facilitate travel on foot and by bicycle on a road with high traffic density, used by around 15,000 vehicles per day.
