The Director General of Commerce and Consumption, Gabriel Alén, visited the Casa da Artesanía de Galicia in Ribadavia this Saturday, where three introductory crochet handicraft workshops are being held as part of the Vilas Vivas project.

The initiative, organized by the Xunta, aims to boost the craft sector in the Ourense town. The workshops are taught by artisan Lola García, from the Logaro workshop, and focus on creating flowers with mohair and sustainable Christmas decorations.
The Casa da Artesanía de Galicia, open since March, also houses a shop selling products under the Artesanía de Galicia brand and the workshop of luthier Xosé Catoira, specializing in violin and cello construction.
The Vilas Vivas project aims to transform disused spaces into profitable businesses that generate employment. The Casa da Artesanía de Galicia hosts workshops and training courses to contribute to the town's economic revitalization.
The shop offers pieces of ceramics, jewelry, costume jewelry, toys, textiles, leather, fashion accessories, and traditional figures. It is open from Thursday to Saturday and Sunday mornings.
