The Xunta de Galicia is tendering the project for the development of residential land in Cangas de Morrazo, where the construction of 300 homes, mostly protected, is planned.

The Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Planning, María Martínez Allegue, along with the territorial delegate of the Xunta in Vigo, Ana Ortiz, announced this Wednesday the tender for a project published today on the Public Contracts Platform of Galicia. The contract, with a bid of over €240,000, aims to prepare the project for the acquisition of land for the construction of these homes in the As Saíñas area. Companies can submit their offers until December 17th.
At least 80% of the homes to be built in this area will be protected housing with permanent qualification, and this figure could reach 100% if the City Council decides so. The As Saíñas area is bordered to the north by A Rúa street and roundabout; to the south, by homes, land, and the Cangas day center, next to the PO-551 road; to the east, by the PO-554 road; and to the west, by the Espírito Santo and Rapadouro neighborhoods. The As Saíñas stream runs through the area from north to south, forming a river park that will be the axis of the development.
With this project in Cangas de Morrazo, there are now 13 Projects of Regional Interest that the Galician government has underway in 12 municipalities across Galicia. Other PIAs already initially approved or in process are located in Lugo, Vigo, Arteixo, Pontevedra, Ourense, A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela, Marín, O Porriño, Vilagarcía de Arousa, and Ribadeo.
