The mayor, Félix Juncal, praised the priest's figure, highlighting that "from the beginning you showed that you wanted to be part of our community, and you have earned the respect of an entire town." Juncal also valued Josecho's participation in social life, his support during difficult times, and his collaboration with the council.
For his part, the priest appeared emotional and thanked the welcome, stating his desire to be "one more of the community, not just the Catholic one but of the town and the citizens." He acknowledged that it was "very special" for him to be in the "home of all," as he had made "more friends outside the church than within it."
At the end of the event, José López ‘Josecho’ was presented with a flag of the municipality, a pin with the coat of arms, and several publications about the municipal history.
