The Ponteareas Council has concluded the third edition of the Fórmate na Empresa program, an initiative by the Xunta de Galicia and the European Union, achieving immediate job placement for 25% of participants.

The municipality consolidates itself as the only Galician council to have participated in all three editions of this initiative by the Xunta de Galicia and the European Union to retain local talent. Twelve young men and women completed four months of paid internships and 58 hours of specialized training in socio-labor skills and Artificial Intelligence.
The closing ceremony was attended by María Isabel Couselo, territorial director of the Consellería de Cultura, Lingua e Xuventude in Pontevedra, alongside the mayor, Nava Castro, and the Councilor for Employment, Silvia Fernández. This edition involved twelve participants (6 young men and 6 young women) with diverse professional profiles, from Ponteareas and neighboring municipalities. The project, aimed at young people registered in the National Youth Guarantee System, concluded with a very positive outcome: the immediate job placement of three participants upon completion of their training period.
The program was structured around three pillars: four-month training internships within the local business fabric; 58 hours of training in personal skills and artificial intelligence; and a personalized orientation itinerary. The Council expressed its gratitude to collaborating firms such as Silvareira Servizos Forestais, Centro de Negocios Asergalicia, Consultoría Condado Paradanta, Algazara Home, Uniformes Elena Pérez, Ecocelta Galicia, Slab arquitectura de interiores, and Fashion Forever-Liu Bazar.
María Isabel Couselo highlighted Ponteareas' commitment “to this project, being the only council in Galicia to have benefited from all three calls”, and the Xunta's commitment “to continue supporting initiatives that unite the talent of our youth with the productive sector”. Mayor Nava Castro emphasized that the initiative perfectly aligns with the future vision for Ponteareas, “a town where young people can study, start businesses, work, and build their life project without being forced to leave due to a lack of opportunities”.
The Councilor for Employment, Silvia Fernández Táboas, added that being the only council to benefit from all three editions “shows that we are facing a government willing to offer job placement opportunities to our citizens”. Ponteareas thus demonstrates its capacity to promote useful and effective programs in close collaboration with the Xunta de Galicia and local businesses, becoming a benchmark in the training and retention of youth talent.
