The Tomiño Market celebrates autumn on October 23rd and 24th with a special program featuring free workshops, crafts, live music, and the inauguration of its new cafeteria on Friday the 23rd.

The Tomiño Market hosts a new edition of the Autumn Market on October 23rd and 24th. This event coincides with the opening of the market's new cafeteria on Friday the 23rd, reinforcing the space as a meeting point and a place to enjoy local life, as well as for shopping. The program will combine gastronomy, traditional crafts, and music, highlighting seasonal products and local commerce.
Mayor Sandra González stated that "the market is part of Tomiño's life, of daily shopping and encounters with people." She added that "supporting the local market means supporting the people who work in it and keep local commerce alive." The opening of the cafeteria "adds a new reason to visit the market and contributes to making it a more vibrant space, where people want to stay and meet."
The program will kick off on Friday the 23rd at 11:00 AM with a cooking workshop by Tania Alves (O Fogón do Mercado) on mushroom croquettes and pumpkin bread. In the afternoon, Suso Cesteiro will lead a traditional basket weaving workshop (4:00 PM - 8:00 PM), which will be repeated on Saturday. At 6:30 PM, biologist Purificación Lorenzo will give a talk on local mushrooms.
On Saturday the 24th, at 11:00 AM, Marisa Baquero (market florist) will guide a workshop to create autumn wreaths. Starting at 1:00 PM, the vermouth session will feature tapas made with local produce (tripe and mushroom fideuá for 2.50 euros) and live music by La Chata (jazz and soul).
During both days (9:00 AM - 2:00 PM), ephemeral spaces will host artisanal baskets by Suso Cesteiro, products from Almacén urbano Gourmet, and on Saturday, creations by Alén do Val (O Rosal) based on mirabelle plums. These spaces are also available year-round for new producers and initiatives.
All workshops and the talk are free and require prior registration. The full program and registration details can be found at www.tomino.gal.
