The European project Euro_Foz has launched a new digital platform, culturaeurocidadefozminho.com, which centralizes the leisure, art, and heritage offerings of O Rosal, A Guarda, and Caminha. This initiative aims to prevent event counter-programming, ensure balanced geographical distribution, and foster dialogue between Galician and Portuguese culture.
The launch of this digital tool, part of the project "0554_EURO_FOZ_MINHO – Euro_Foz: Construíndo a Eurocidade da Foz do Miño", responds to the commitment of the three municipalities to jointly manage their daily relationship, in this case through effective cultural coordination. The portal serves as a dynamic showcase to consult all the performing arts, music, community, and heritage programming taking place around the mouth of the Minho River.
The agenda, framed within Activity 3 (Cultural Eurocity) of the Euro_Foz project, coordinates municipal calendars to avoid overlapping high-attendance activities, facilitate cross-border public mobility, and ensure homogeneous distribution of events. The three municipalities will jointly plan dates, content, and venues, integrating events from the European project, established cycles, and proposals from local cultural associations.
The portal allows filtering events by discipline, date, and location, available in both Galician and Portuguese. In addition to promoting the use of shared public services and facilities, the project seeks to enhance the visibility of local creators and artists on both sides of the estuary, demonstrating that the border is not a barrier to creativity and leisure. The project thus consolidates the foundations for the future Eurocity of the Minho Estuary.
