The artwork, inspired by the Greek goddess of wisdom Athena and her accompanying white bird, seeks to convey the idea that knowledge brings mental clarity. The mural, featuring light and bright tones, was specifically designed to promote an atmosphere of calm and well-being for study area users.
Manuel Suárez Casal, a painter from A Coruña with nearly three decades of artistic experience, has evolved from figuration towards an informalist and abstract style. Since his first exhibition in 1997, he has participated in over fifty solo and group shows and received several regional awards.
The addition of this artwork integrates contemporary art into a daily-use public space, reinforcing the library's role as a meeting point for culture, education, and creativity. The intervention aims to improve facilities and offer citizens a more human and stimulating environment.
