Sara Hermo Alonso, with the work ‘Ocupación vixiada’, received the Carlos Valcárcel Award for best photograph proposed by the organization, endowed with 350 euros, a trophy, and a diploma. Meanwhile, Francisco Javier Lanseros García, with ‘Fragmento urbán’, obtained the Eduardo Ochoa Award for best free-theme photograph, endowed with 300 euros, a trophy, and a diploma.
The Public's Choice Award ended in a tie between the works ‘Casas’ by Sara López Temes and ‘Dúplex con vistas ao Miño. Búscase compañeiro de piso’ by Esther López.
The award ceremony was presided over by the Vice-Rector for Culture, Language, and Heritage, Ana Cabana Iglesia. Also participating were Iria Castro Fernández, Provincial Deputy for Culture; Javier Vázquez Prado, Councilor for Culture and Education of the Lugo City Council; and the event coordinator, Eduardo Ochoa.
The jury consisted of Eduardo Rodríguez Ochoa (coordinator and president), María Teresa Díaz Valcárcel (photography specialist), Adrián Vázquez Rodríguez (photographer), and Paloma Lugilde Rodríguez (secretary without vote).
Additionally, a dozen of the submitted works will be part of an exhibition open at the Library until December 14th. This initiative is part of the Lugo Cultural agreement, funded by the University of Santiago de Compostela, Culture and Tourism of the Lugo City Council, and the Vice-Presidency of the Provincial Council of Lugo.
