The metal structure for the new pedestrian bridge over the Ronda de la República Argentina in Lugo is being manufactured in two specialized workshops, as reported by the Lugo City Council. The project, awarded to the UTE formed by Citanias Obras y Servicios and Geocaminos for 1,115,361.22 euros, is progressing according to schedule.
The infrastructure's foundations will be laid before the end of 2026. The installation of the pillars is scheduled for mid-May 2027, and the final bridge installation for the end of that same month. This latter phase will require traffic closures on the national road for two or three nights.
The project and tender were approved on April 29th, with the award completed in August and the contract formalized on September 17th. The Lugo City Council will continue to monitor the project to ensure compliance with the planned deadlines.
This new bridge aims to improve pedestrian connectivity between both sides of the Ronda de la República Argentina.
