The Director General of Mobility, Judit Fontela, defended the road public transport offer between Ferrol and A Coruña in Parliament, lamenting the central government's lack of attention to rail connections.

The Director General of Mobility, Judit Fontela, defended in the Parliament of Galicia the breadth of the road public transport offer between Ferrol and A Coruña. Fontela lamented that the central government is not addressing the railway connection needs of the Ferrol area, a demand that the Xunta and citizen groups have been making for some time.
According to the Director General, the state's neglect in the railway sector makes the bus the only mobility alternative for Ferrol. Therefore, the Xunta closely monitors needs and reinforces services during peak demand hours, also using large-capacity vehicles. However, Judit Fontela stressed that, as with all public transport, it will not always be possible to offer a seat to everyone on a specific departure, even if scheduled services are provided and reinforcements are incorporated.
The connection between Ferrol and A Coruña includes 60 daily services on weekdays, 30 in each direction, totaling 4,000 seats. The offer designed by the Xunta concentrates many services during peak demand hours to accommodate work and school schedules.
Furthermore, Judit Fontela defended the Xunta's work in ensuring compliance with road public transport contracts and guaranteeing the quality of service provided to citizens, through inspections and annual evaluation campaigns.
