The «Cedeira – Mar de vida» project aims to foster healthy lifestyle habits from an early age through training sessions, physical activity proposals, and routes through the local territory.
The initiative highlights the importance of an active lifestyle and balanced nutrition, combining knowledge about nutrition with physical exercise and valuing local products.
The program began on Monday with sessions focused on physical activity and sports, led by Isidro Alonso, a graduate in physical activity and sports sciences and owner of the local training center IB, who provided alternatives for staying active and reducing sedentary behavior.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Alicia Villegas, a nutritionist and professional from Racing de Ferrol, will lead sessions on healthy eating, the importance of a balanced diet, and the value of fresh, local, and seasonal products.
On Thursday and Friday, students will participate in routes through the territory that combine physical exercise, contact with the environment, and highlighting local resources.
These routes will include a visit to the local restaurant Badulaque, where Manuel Ramonde, the owner, will showcase the daily work with local products and appropriate preparation techniques.
The project, promoted by the Cedeira City Council with funding from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (FEMPA) and the Consellería do Mar, through aid managed by GALP A Mariña-Ortegal, aims to contribute to new generations adopting beneficial habits for their development.
