The Silleda City Council has put out to tender works for the humanization of environments in nine rural areas, with a base budget of 671,975.21 euros and a four-month execution period.

The Silleda City Council has put out to tender works for the project to humanize environments in rural areas. This action, which has a base tender budget of 671,975.21 euros (VAT included), will allow intervention in nine areas of the municipality.
Interested companies can submit their offers until next October 26. The project establishes an execution period of four months from the start of the works. The action will be financed by the Plan +Provincia 2026-2027 of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra.
The rural areas that will benefit from this project are Cumbraos (Escuadro), Corveira-Soldecasa (Rellas and Escuadro), Santa Cristina and A Peroxa (Lamela), Vilavella (O Castro), Pedrouzo (Graba), Sestelo (Siador), Recimil (Fiestras), and Toxa (Silleda).
The mayor of Silleda and municipal head of Works, Paula Fernández Pena, highlighted that this project is “very important for our rural areas, both for the amount of investment and for the number of areas to be acted upon”. She indicated that the objective is “to improve the accessibility, safety, and functionality of public spaces, seeking more comfortable and welcoming environments for the residents and also recovering these spaces as places for meeting and coexistence”.
The project includes comprehensive intervention in the roads, with improvements to surfaces, pavements, drainage, signage, and the incorporation of urban furniture. Specific solutions are also included to promote pedestrian mobility and safer coexistence between vehicular traffic and people.
These works are in addition to an investment of over 3.5 million euros in improving the municipal road network over the last two years, including the Plan Silleda and actions from the Plan Camiña Rural.
