The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Ángeles Vázquez, and the mayor of Coirós, Francisco Quintela Requeijo, met today in Santiago de Compostela to assess possibilities for undertaking measures to optimize the municipality's water supply network.
Ángeles Vázquez committed to studying the project that the mayor presented to Augas de Galicia (Galician Water Agency) to improve the water storage conditions of this locality in A Coruña.
The objective, as explained by the mayor at the meeting, is to respond to the increase in demand for drinking water due to population growth and the expansion of the business park with the establishment of new industries with high water consumption.
The Xunta de Galicia, through the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, provides technical and economic support to Galician municipalities to help them exercise their responsibilities in sanitation, purification, and water supply efficiently and provide quality services to their residents.
