The provincial institution has its own space offering live cooking and craft demonstrations, as well as bringing the music of Sés to the Pataca Rock event.
Vice-president Xosé Regueira, at the official inauguration, emphasized the importance of valuing the land's products and the work of those who produce them, highlighting the potato as an example of the Galician agri-food sector's potential and the need to strengthen the link between production, gastronomy, and territory.
“"Behind every quality product there is knowledge, effort, and people who keep our rural areas alive. We must recognize that work and create opportunities so that new generations see the primary sector as a future option."
Regueira also stressed the importance of promoting local products beyond their region of origin, turning them into a resource to boost the economy and attract visitors. He added that "bringing the flavors and projects of our province to Vilar de Barrio is also a way of showing who we are and demonstrating that gastronomy can be a great ally in making the territory known".
Chef André Arzúa, from the Espazo Abella restaurant in Santiago de Compostela, will be cooking live dishes based on the fine potato variety from Carballo. Live craft demonstrations will be presented by Jorge Eiroa (blacksmithing) and O Carabel Ecocestos (basketry).
