Xunta de Galicia · 2026-10-19

The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Ángeles Vázquez, and the Mayor of Carral, José Luis Fernández Mouriño, met today in Santiago de Compostela to evaluate possibilities for improving the municipality's sanitation network.

The meeting also addressed municipal projects being studied by the Council to renovate the sanitation networks in the parishes of San Vicente and Cañás. The goal is for both networks, once renewed, to channel wastewater to the San Vicente treatment plant, which already has the necessary capacity.
Ángeles Vázquez stated that technical staff from Augas de Galicia will study the projects presented by the council to determine their technical viability and potential avenues for funding collaboration.
The Xunta de Galicia, through the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, already provides technical and economic support to Galician municipalities to help them exercise their responsibilities in sanitation, treatment, and water supply efficiently.
