Residents of Soutomaior can deposit household organic waste in these bins. To use them, a special access card is required, which can be requested free of charge at the Town Hall (from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM) or at the Montesiña Recycling Point (from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM).
The council will remove the old key-operated brown bins and urges users to obtain the new card as soon as possible. Additionally, free compostable bags will be distributed at both municipal offices and the Recycling Point.
“"Organic matter is one of the most expensive fractions to treat when not separated correctly. Doing it well helps us reduce costs and care for the environment. With these new bins, we want to facilitate waste separation and move towards a more sustainable Soutomaior."
This initiative is part of the environmental campaign Conscientes, Medra en verde (Conscious, Grow in green), focused on environmental awareness and improving municipal waste management.
