The Mos City Council and technicians from Turismo de Galicia met today to address the improvement of safety on the Jacobean route as it passes through the municipality. The meeting aims to respond to a long-standing demand to mitigate the risks associated with transit through a point requiring special attention.
The mayor of Mos, Nidia Arévalo, will present the studied proposals to the Camino Council and the National 550 Monitoring Commission in the coming days. The objective is to advance towards a solution that can be implemented in the short term and address this historical safety demand.
The local government is committed to continuing to work with administrations and involved bodies to find viable alternatives that balance the protection of pilgrims with the safety and mobility of residents.
“"The safety of pilgrims and residents is a priority, and we have been working for some time to find a solution that resolves this situation. The alternative we are studying seeks to provide a viable response as soon as possible to a historical demand, ensuring safer transit compatible with the daily lives of our residents."
