The managing director of CETMAR, Rosa Chapela, accepted the recognition on behalf of all the staff who have passed through the Galician foundation over these 25 years. She highlighted that the multidisciplinary team is "at the service of the sea and the people who live from it" and that, in addition to their training, they possess knowledge gained from speaking with the maritime-fishing sector, to whom she thanked for their support and defined as "our greatest strength".
Chapela also emphasized the support of the Administration and its confidence in the work of the Technological Center of the Sea, which since its creation in 2001 has been applying science and innovation to the service of the Galician sea. She also celebrated the support for the development of projects and services at European and international cooperation levels, which has enabled a productive exchange of knowledge.
At the end of her speech, the managing director of CETMAR reiterated her gratitude to all those who have made these 25 years of shared work possible, stressing that "they would not have made sense without the sector's support," and stated that the work will continue in the future because "the sea is our home".
