The Escena Muller Festival (FEM) 2026 kicks off today at Faro Vilán with the exhibition «Coreografías do facer», and will run until November 8 in Camariñas, Vimianzo, and Dumbría.

The Deputy for Equality of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, Sol Agra, participated this morning in the opening of the exhibition «Coreografías do facer. O traballo feminino en Gustav Henningsen», marking the start of the Escena Muller Festival's program in Costa da Morte. The festival will bring together theater, music, oral storytelling, and workshops in these three municipalities until November 8.
The deputy highlighted the diversity of spaces where activities are held, distributed across Camariñas, Vimianzo, and Dumbría, including cultural centers, auditoriums, museums, public squares, and promenades. She also emphasized the importance of bringing culture to younger generations by taking performing arts to primary and secondary schools to inspire students.
The exhibition «Coreografías do facer», curated by Ana Estévez Lavandeira from the archive of Gustav Henningsen, recovers the traditional work of women. Faro Vilán thus becomes a meeting point between ethnographic heritage, landscape, and the memory of the region's women.
The program continues this Friday, October 24, at 8:00 PM, at Bitácora, in O Ézaro (Dumbría), with the performance «As ben dadas» by actress and storyteller Atenea García. On Saturday, October 24, at 9:00 PM, artist Atenea García will present «Vicio houbo sempre» at Casa de Man, in Camariñas.
The festival also includes «A historia vaxenial» by Artyc Content, featuring Raquel Nogueira, in Vimianzo on October 31; «Chegar e encher» by Bea Campos, in Dumbría on November 1; and oral storytelling sessions by Soraya Lema. The collective creation «Os fíos da memoria», with the lacemakers of Vimianzo and music by Belém Tajes, will take place on November 7. The festival will conclude on November 8 in Camariñas with the theatrical concert «Unha señora orquestra» by Torta Torta, featuring Ailén Kendelman.
Additionally, the workshop «Creando panos», led by Noelia Darriba, will be held with sessions in all three municipalities between October 26 and November 4.
