The Minister of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training, Román Rodríguez, held a meeting today in A Estrada with the president of Aspanaes, Ignacio Labella, to discuss collaboration on the launch of two Special Education classrooms. These facilities, located in the former courthouse and with premises to be provided by the City Council, will aim to offer support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families.
The pilot project, which plans to enroll around 10 students, has the main objective of decentralizing diversity support services. This approach aims to bring these resources closer to families, facilitating work-life balance. The expectation is that the classrooms will be operational for the 2027/28 academic year, once Aspanaes completes the refurbishment and equipping of the space.
The Ministry of Education already collaborates with other specialized educational facilities of Aspanaes in Galicia, offering various educational options. The minister highlighted the association's work, describing it as "fundamental for promoting student inclusion," and thanked the A Estrada City Council for its willingness to make this initiative a reality.
