The Xunta de Galicia has completed the vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 in the residences for the elderly in the province of Lugo, a campaign that began in late September and will extend until December 31.

The territorial delegate of the autonomous administration, Alfonso Villares, visited the DomusVi residence in Outeiro de Rei this morning, where users and staff were administered the vaccine today.
The target population for influenza vaccination includes people aged 60 and over, while for COVID it is those over 70. As a novelty, this year the high-dose flu vaccine is extended to all individuals aged 65 and over.
Villares recalled that the Ministry of Health will extend the campaign until December 31, progressively including different groups and age ranges. Immunization for healthcare professionals and children began on October 13, extended to people aged 70 and over on the 19th, and to pregnant women last Monday.
From November 9, it will be open to citizens aged 60 and over; and from November 30, to those living with at-risk individuals and the rest of the target population.
