The traditional San Martiño Fair in Teo, declared a Festival of Tourist Interest of Galicia last year, will return to its original location in Carballeira de Francos on November 8, 10, and 11. The celebration thus maintains its history of over 500 years.
As new additions for this edition, the opening speech on Tuesday, November 10, will be delivered by the traditional music group from the Rosalía de Castro de Cacheiras cultural association, aiming to give prominence to the local associations. Following the speech, singer Pili Pampín will offer a free concert in the institutional tent. The day will continue with folk music sessions at the pulperías, accompanied by the band A Ponte Vella.
On Wednesday, November 11, the main day of San Martiño, the trade of equine livestock will open at 6 AM, and horse riders will be permitted to arrive. From 9:00 AM, the traditional market, the pulperías area, and the craft fair will be open, along with an exhibition of Food Crafts made in Teo.
Throughout the morning, there will be agro-food quality experiences, including a wine tasting from the Ribeira do Ulla, live cooking with seasonal products, and a tasting of Galician cheeses with Protected Designation of Origin. Pre-registration on the municipal website will be required to participate in these activities.
The traditional music from the group of the AC Rosalía de Castro de Cacheiras, this edition's opening speakers, and the performance of “O Cego na feira” will entertain the day in the carballeira.
The Feiriña do San Martiño, designed for children, will take place on Sunday, November 8. It will include workshops for keychains and cookies, a family scavenger hunt, a guided route by the Colectivo A Rula, and a horse baptism and carousel. The day will conclude with the musical theater A Feira das Linguas.
