The Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) today publishes the budgetary increase for the Bono Remuda, a measure included in the unified order of aid for self-employed workers. The initiative's budget has thus risen from the initial 1.5 million euros to 2,050,000 euros to cover all received applications that meet the requirements. Thanks to this measure, a total of 93 businesses will be able to continue operating after the retirement of their owners in 2026.
The Bono Remuda provides support for those taking over a business, through two lines: the Bono remuda rural, for companies in municipalities with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants, and the Bono remuda general, for those in municipalities with 10,000 inhabitants or more. The grants for those who take over a business due to retirement range between €3,000 and €6,000, depending on the size of the municipality where the business is located.
This aid covers up to 75% of the succession cost, with a maximum of €30,000, aiming to prevent the closure of businesses previously registered in the Succession Exchange of the Network of entrepreneurship and employment support centers. The amounts may increase if the acquirer is under 30 or over 52 years old, is a woman or a long-term unemployed person, or if the business being transferred has more than five employees, among other factors.
