The Minister of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training, Román Rodríguez, today inaugurated the 15th Galician Education and Training Fair, Edugal, in Pontevedra, a key event for student guidance.

The head of the Xunta's educational department highlighted Edugal's consolidation as one of the most important events within the Galicia Educa calendar, promoted by the Xunta to showcase degree offerings, guide students, and highlight innovative projects from educational centers.
Román Rodríguez emphasized the usefulness of these events in strengthening the connection between educational centers and the business and productive sector, stating that training must respond to current and future challenges so that young people can confidently build their professional projects. He noted that fairs like Edugal bring education closer to students' realities and demonstrate the quality and diversity of training offered in Galicia.
The Galicia Educa calendar comprises 16 fairs distributed throughout Galicia this year, with a territorial focus that facilitates student access to information and resources to decide their academic and professional future.
The 2026 edition of Edugal features 64 exhibitors, with a notable presence from the Xunta de Galicia, including a dedicated space for Vocational Training (FP), 16 educational centers, a center from the Consellería do Mar (Ministry of the Sea), and a stand from the Consellería de Emprego (Ministry of Employment). Following the inauguration, the minister visited the FP exhibition area, showcasing the offerings of these studies, their professional outlets, and specialization opportunities.
Additionally, institutes such as Politécnico, Ricardo Mella, and Luís Seoane, integrated FP centers like Carlos Oroza and A Xunqueira, and schools like the Escola Superior de Arte Dramático de Galicia, among others, are participating in the event.
The fair, running until Friday, brings together educational centers, universities, companies, and entrepreneurial initiatives under the slogan O teu futuro nas túas mans (Your future in your hands), with meetings, workshops, and practical activities to foster contact between young talent and job opportunities. The National Police, the Armed Forces, and various educational associations also have a presence.
