The Galician Health Service (Sergas) has awarded a contract for 2,115,697 euros for the successive supply of spine implants for the Ourense, Verín, and O Barco de Valdeorras health area, covering surgical needs for an initial two-year period with an option to extend.

The Xunta de Galicia, through the Galician Health Service, has published the award of a contract worth 2,115,697 euros for the successive supply of spine implants intended for the Ourense, Verín, and O Barco de Valdeorras health area.
The contract, divided into 19 lots, has been awarded to the companies Medtronic Ibérica S.A., Orto-Arins S.l.U., and Prim S.A. It will have an initial duration of 2 years, with the possibility of a 24-month extension. It includes the acquisition of over 7,700 units, such as connectors, rods, meshes, and screws.
This medical material will be used in spinal surgical interventions to correct structural anomalies, replace damaged parts, and alleviate patient pain. Back and spine injuries are a growing problem due to age, accidents, overexertion, and poor daily posture.
Spine surgery allows for decompression, mobilization of elements, fixation of vertebral structures, and their replacement, designed according to the patient's pathology to restore stability or correct vertebral alignment due to degenerative, post-surgical, congenital, or traumatic processes.
