This week is full of cultural and festive events in Cabanas. On Thursday, November 5th, at 12:30 PM, there will be children's theater with the play Travesía unicornio at CEIP Eladia Mariño, an activity organized by the City Council and the Provincial Council of A Coruña as part of the Equality Circuit.
On Friday the 6th, starting at 8:00 PM, Tarde Piache is organizing the presentation of the book “Usted debería saber. La historia secuestrada de la monarquía. 90 años con Franco”, by Manuel Monge, at the Casa de la Cultura. Simultaneously, a t-shirt workshop for children will be offered as a childcare service.
At 9:00 PM that same Friday, the Festas de San Martiño de Porto will begin, featuring a tasting of octopus from Pulpería Landeira, followed by a verbena (street party) with Grupo Eureka and Dúo Venus.
The festivities will continue on Saturday the 7th with morning wake-up calls and serenades by bagpipers, a solemn mass at 1:15 PM, fireworks, and a vermouth session with Dúo Maracuyá. The evening will feature performances by Grupo Jaque and Dúo Maracuyá.
On Sunday the 8th, the festive program includes a solemn mass with a procession of the Patron Saint at 1:15 PM and a vermouth session with Dúo Boreal. In the afternoon, at 5:00 PM, the Roga da Esfolla (a traditional event) will take place at the Pavillón de Lavandeira, organized by the Asociación de Mulleres Cabanas Rural, with music by Silbarda and a snack.
Additionally, the mobile Clean Point will be located this week on Av. do Areal, in the Día Ocho parking lot. A change of date has also been announced for the excursion to the program “En Compañía de Loli”, which has been moved to Thursday the 12th due to external causes.
Furthermore, the Agricultural ITV (Technical Vehicle Inspection) will visit Cabanas on Thursday the 3rd and Wednesday, December 9th, at the Municipal Pavilion (Lavandeira).
