The project seeks to teach how to identify risky behaviors in digital relationships and promote healthy and egalitarian relationships. The initiative, developed within the municipal program Revolucionando Mentes, is funded by the Provincial Council of Pontevedra and collaborates with the Galician Association of Communication for Social Change (Agareso).
Students from 5th and 6th grade of Primary Education have already participated in a meeting to reflect on the risks of digital relationships and learn to differentiate between red flags (warning signs) and green flags (positive behaviors). Students will also participate in creating communication content to convey these messages to the community.
The project responds to concerns raised by the children and youth participation group Fogaric@s, which in the 2025 children's plenary session highlighted issues such as cyberbullying, the use of images without consent, and pressure to send intimate photos.
“"We have the responsibility to give new generations tools to recognize situations of sexist violence disguised as concern or supposed displays of affection. Only then can they recognize these situations, set boundaries, and build relationships where no one has to give up their freedom or intimacy."
The project includes a training session open to families on Monday, November 9th, at 6:45 PM, at the CPI Manuel Suárez Marquier, focusing on the responsible use of new technologies. There will also be specific training for technical staff of cultural and sports associations on Thursday, November 12th.
The Councilor for Equality, Beatriz Rodríguez, emphasizes the importance of educating in the responsible use of technologies, teaching that controlling another person's mobile phone is not a sign of greater love and that everyone has the right to relate without pressure or threats.
