The Lugo City Council has approved tax reforms aimed at facilitating access to rental housing and boosting economic activity to foster job creation.

The Plenary Session of the Lugo City Council today approved tax reforms with two main objectives: to facilitate access to rental housing and to boost economic activity to foster job creation and retain local talent.
In the housing sector, the fiscal modification includes a 95% bonus on the Property Tax (IBI) for owners who incorporate their properties into the municipal program Lugo Aluga. This initiative aims to mobilize properties for rent at affordable prices, offering guarantees to both property owners and those seeking a home.
Furthermore, the tax reforms also seek to encourage the establishment of new companies and the expansion of existing ones within the municipality. The bonuses are linked to job creation, establishing reductions of up to 80% on the IBI, the Tax on Constructions, Installations, and Works (ICIO), and the Economic Activities Tax (IAE), according to the conditions set out in the respective ordinances.
These measures are part of a fiscal policy aimed at facilitating housing mobilization, supporting business activity, and creating employment opportunities in Lugo, thereby contributing to retaining local talent.
