The Lugo Music School resumes its activity today, Tuesday, October 13, 2026, after two years of inactivity, thanks to the approval of the first modification of the Staffing Structure (RPT) promoted by the current government team.

The mayor of Lugo, Elena Candia, celebrated the recovery of this service, which addresses the requests of the staff of the Municipal Music Band, also responsible for teaching. "We see the practical result of this work with the recovery of a service that had been closed for two years," she highlighted.
The reopening of the Music School represents a direct outcome of the RPT modification, allowing for the resumption of teaching activities and musical training opportunities for citizens.
Coinciding with the start of classes, the City Council is opening a second enrollment period to facilitate the incorporation of new students at the beginning of the academic year.
Furthermore, during this month of October, the regulations for the instrument bank are expected to be published. This initiative will allow students to request the loan of instruments for use throughout the academic year, aiming to reduce financial difficulties for families.
The available material will include 2 euphoniums, 10 B-flat clarinets, 2 E-flat clarinets, 1 bassoon, 1 bagpipe, 3 alto saxophones, 4 trombones, 2 French horns, 5 trumpets, 1 tuba, and 3 percussion kits.
Interested individuals should consult the conditions and requirements detailed in the regulations, which will specify the application procedure and the criteria for granting loans.
