The Xunta's delegate in Ferrol, Martina Aneiros, visited the facilities to oversee the work carried out with a grant from the Community Action Plan of the Ministry of Presidency, Justice, and Sports.
The association received the funding to implement acoustic insulation for doors between spaces using special panels and reinforced glass in the auditorium. A paneled area was also created to conceal the selective waste collection zone, and a closed space for furniture storage.
Additionally, the center's equipment was improved with the acquisition of new office and folding chairs, a cabinet, and a 75-inch LED screen.
This grant program, aimed at neighborhood associations, rural women's associations, and water user communities, seeks to support the neighborhood movement to improve coexistence and revitalize social and cultural life throughout Galicia.
This year's call has a budget of 3 million euros, with 2.6 million for works and 400,000 euros for equipment. The works include conditioning, renovation, expansion, elimination of architectural barriers, and improvements to structures, facades, roofs, interiors, windows, ceilings, plumbing, air conditioning, sanitation, or electricity.
For community water supply facilities, the works focus on intakes, pipelines, and reservoirs to reduce water loss and improve management, measurement, quality control, or energy efficiency.
Support for equipment facilitates the purchase of furniture, computer equipment, or acoustic and audiovisual equipment for the operation of entities and the organization of activities.
