Machinery from the Mancomunidad de Municipios of the Deza Region is once again working in the municipality of Silleda, as part of the second round of planned interventions for this year, aimed at conserving and improving the rural road network.

The work has begun in the parishes of Taboada and Cortegada, specifically on the gravel tracks connecting the areas of A Ponte and Carballeda, and on the tracks of Liñares, Do Río, and Valiños. Further work is expected in the coming days in the area of Reboredo, in the parish of Taboada. Interventions include conditioning and leveling the road surface, as well as opening and cleaning ditches to improve road conditions, facilitate circulation, and ensure better access to homes, properties, and agricultural holdings in the area.
Work has already been carried out in the parish of Cortegada, in the area of Xubín, where access to the fountain was conditioned. Currently, interventions are also underway in the area of Covas, in the same locality, improving access to a dwelling. The machinery will continue in the coming days with new planned actions in various parts of the municipality.
A notable new feature of this round is the reinforcement of the Mancomunidad's teams with resources from the Concello de Silleda itself. A municipal front loader and two tractors are joining the Mancomunidad's teams, along with municipal personnel, to maximize the presence of the regional machinery and advance on a greater number of interventions. This coordination increases work capacity and speeds up interventions in a municipality with wide territorial dispersion and an extensive network of rural tracks and paths requiring continuous maintenance.
“

"In a municipality like ours, with so many parishes, population centers, and kilometers of tracks, maintaining the rural road network is a constant job. That's why we want to make the most of the Mancomunidad's resources, reinforcing them with our own means to act in more places and respond to the needs of the residents."

Paula Fernández Pena · Mayor of Silleda
The mayor also recalls that these interventions complement the significant investments the Concello has been making in recent years to improve rural road infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of both major paving works and maintenance actions to keep roads in good condition and ensure access to homes and holdings.
