The Xunta delegate in A Coruña, Belén do Campo, announced today the progress in the processing of this sustainable mobility project with the publication of its public information in the DOG. The total investment, including bidding and expropriations, exceeds 1.6 million euros. The section in Oleiros has a budget of nearly 1.3 million and the one in Cambre over 319,000 euros.
The public information period will be open for 30 working days. The project affects 10 plots (6 in Oleiros and 4 in Cambre), and the execution period for the works is 12 months. The plan is to award the project in the second quarter of next year and begin construction in the last semester of 2027.
The main objective is to improve the safety of pedestrian and bicycle travel between Vilanova and A Seara (Oleiros) and the rural nucleus of O Pastel (Cambre), separating pedestrians and cyclists from road traffic. Current verges are only about half a meter wide.
The project involves the construction of a shared-use path, 2.5 meters wide, along 2 kilometers of the AC-221, between kilometer points 2+180 and 4+200. The route will run along the left and right banks of the road, with a one-meter verge.
The project also includes the creation of green strips, parallel parking areas, drainage improvements with drains and buried collectors, and the construction of twelve stone walls. Additionally, a buried conduit for telecommunications will be installed.
