Around 70 people participated on Saturday morning in the "Andaina galega" (Galician Walk) in Valga, an initiative to advocate for Galicia's own language, attended by the Minister of Culture, José López Campos, and the mayor, José María Bello Maneiro.

The march, which started and ended at the Irmáns Dios Mosquera Park, gathered residents from Valga and surrounding areas, as well as students from the Galician language course taught at the Municipal Auditorium. These students come from up to eight different nationalities, including returned emigrants and individuals from Canary Islands, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, and the United States.
The Minister of Culture, José López Campos, highlighted that Valga is "an example in the promotion and protection of our language" and a "welcoming" municipality that works in various fields, including cultural heritage and language. He also stated that the walk represents "the commitment that municipalities like Valga have to our language and your involvement in continuing to pass it on".
Participants received as a gift a t-shirt with a poem by Rosalía de Castro dedicated to Valga and a blue lollipop, symbolizing the defense of the Galician language. The 7-kilometer route included stops at the Mina Mercedes, the parish church of Campaña, the Souto bridge, and the CODI, where readings of Galician texts were held and a mural was created.
Throughout the itinerary, fragments from works by prominent Galician authors were encountered, transforming the day into an open-air cultural experience.
