The Valga City Council continues with its municipal road network maintenance plan by widening and improving the road connecting the population centers of Gándara (in the parish of Cordeiro) and O Carballiño (in Xanza), with an investment of almost 60,000 euros.

This is an important road for local mobility that was in a high state of deterioration, and the planned intervention affects a stretch of almost one kilometer in length. The first phase of the work, which is already completed, included cleaning and profiling 400 meters of ditches, widening the platform to 6 meters, and resurfacing part of the route.
The second phase, to be executed in the coming year, will involve the remaining asphalt work and the installation of new signage.
The works have a total budget of 59,978.88 euros, financed through the Plan Camiña from the Consellería do Medio Rural. This program aims to improve, expand, and conserve the road network in Galician municipalities, facilitating access to population centers and agricultural areas, and enhancing road safety and living conditions in rural zones.
