The International Autumn Theater Festival (FIOT) in Carballo kicks off its fourth week of programming, from Wednesday, October 14th to Sunday, October 18th, with an agenda featuring prominent contemporary stage productions, emerging talent, and activities for all ages.

One of the week's highlights will be the Galician premiere of Libres!!!, a play written by Esther F. Carrodeguas and directed by National Theater Award winner Andrés Lima, to be performed on Saturday, October 17th, at the Pazo da Cultura Auditorium. The production, starring Alba Flores, revisits the memory of the anarcho-syndicalist organization Mujeres Libres and champions the power of joyful utopia in an anarcho-sicalyptic cabaret blending humor, music, and songs.
The program also includes the Galician premiere of Cosas pequeñas by PSiRC, a multidisciplinary piece combining contemporary circus, object theater, and visual poetry, and Doce metros cuadrados de piel by La Rueda Teatro Social, a creation of community and intergenerational theater. The festival is rounded out with new proposals from OTNI, FIOTeen, the Micro-Scenes M² Contest, and FIOT en Ruta, along with workshops and a tribute to Manuel Lourenzo.
On Thursday, October 15th, the OTNI cycle will present the ‘work in progress’ Asoballada por fentos by Galician artist and researcher Álvaro Corral Cid, a critical review of Galician folklore memory and its instrumentalization during the Franco regime. Admission is free.
On Friday, October 16th, Cosas pequeñas by PSiRC will be presented, exploring the human condition in the face of advancing machines and algorithms through contemporary circus and visual poetry.
On Saturday, October 17th, the X Certame de Micro-Escenas M² will feature two new finalist pieces in their absolute premiere: Fogar by La Tercera, at the Rosalía de Castro Garden, and A casa do avó by Candil Teatro, at the Buy & Sell shop.
Also on Saturday, October 17th, the exhibition Manuel Lourenzo. A pegada que continúa, a tribute to this fundamental figure of Galician theater, will be inaugurated in the lobby of the Pazo da Cultura.
On Wednesday, October 14th, FIOTeen will offer a school performance of Caballito de mar by Flyhard Produccions, addressing diversity, affections, and the freedom to be, followed by a Q&A with the company.
On Sunday, October 18th, FIOT en Ruta will present As aventuras de Nabiza Girl by Isabel Risco, and Doce metros cuadrados de piel by La Rueda Teatro Social, exploring social models and identity across different life stages.
The festival highlights the public's strong response, with over 90% of tickets sold out for many of its performances, and reminds attendees that additional tickets may become available at the Pazo da Cultura box office.
