The A Laracha Council is promoting a new editorial project to recover and disseminate local memory, focusing on the history and evolution of education in the municipality. The work has been commissioned to writer and documentarian Xabier Maceiras.

The A Laracha Council continues its work of promoting local memory with a new publication dedicated to the history and evolution of education in the municipality. The work will be written by the writer and documentarian from Arteixo, Xabier Maceiras.
The mayor, José Manuel López Varela, and the Councilor for Culture, Patricia Bello, met with the author to define the content and documentation needs. Maceiras has issued a call for public collaboration, requesting testimonies, information, and old photographs related to educational activities in the municipality. Those interested in collaborating can contact the author via his social media or email at xabimaceirasrodriguez@gmail.com.
This will be Maceiras's third publication commissioned by the A Laracha Council. Previously, he produced 'As telleiras da Laracha e os cabaqueiros do Baixo Miño' and a work focused on the timber sector, which will be edited soon. Additionally, the author manages the blog 'Crónicas da Laracha' with the Council's collaboration and has published two other books on local memory: 'Os bailes dos avós' and 'Cen anos de fútbol en Arteixo e A Laracha'.
