The Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) publishes today the resolution of the aid order for the maintenance and creation of new early attention units. This is a free public service aimed at children up to six years of age, essential for preventing, detecting, and acting on developmental problems. The Ministry of Social Policy is allocating more than 17 million euros between the remainder of 2026 and the years 2027 and 2028 for these grants, with which the Galician early attention network is consolidated and continues to be extended.
Through this call, the launch of five new resources is financed, requested by the municipalities of Ribadeo, Brión, and Lugo; as well as by the grouping of municipalities formed by Viveiro, O Vicedo, and Ourol, and by the one constituted by the municipalities of Celanova, Ramirás, and Verea. Furthermore, aid is renewed to ensure the continuity of existing early attention units.
Currently, Galicia has more than 50 such resources, covering around 200 municipalities and serving over 6,000 minors. This line of aid is co-financed by the European Union (EU) within the framework of the FSE+ Galicia 2021-2027 program.
