The CITIC of the Universidade da Coruña has reinforced its commitment to gender equality and its European projection through participation in various international meetings held in Brussels, Porto, and Dublin during October.

The Permanent Equality Group of the CITIC at UDC conducted intense international activity to showcase its initiatives, exchange best practices, and explore new collaboration opportunities in digital training, research, and innovation.
In Brussels, on October 6th, researchers from the center participated in a working meeting with the European Vocational Training Association to identify synergies and collaboration lines for European projects by 2027, focusing on ICT, digital skills, and gender equality in the tech sector.
Subsequently, on October 12th in Porto, a delegation attended the roundtable Women in Manufacturing: AI, Data and Robotics, where challenges in the industrial technological transformation were analyzed and the need to strengthen female participation in technological development was highlighted.
On October 15th and 16th in Dublin, CITIC participated in the Digital Talent EU Days 2026 at the Trinity Business School. The center had its own stand to promote initiatives like the individual commitment letter for equality and the mentoring program for international pre-doctoral staff.
During these meetings, the CITIC delegation made contact with representatives from the European Commission, the AI Office of Ireland, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), and other European bodies and organizations, in addition to exchanging experiences with companies and working groups.
Notably, María Luz Castro Pena, a CITIC researcher, participated as an expert in the TWG4 working group, focusing on intersectional approaches to gender equality with disability, age, or socioeconomic origin in the digital field.
CITIC's presence at these events facilitated the sharing of experiences, expanded its network of institutional and scientific contacts, and identified new collaboration opportunities, thereby highlighting the importance of incorporating a gender perspective into digital and technological transformation.
