The intervention aims to improve accessibility and safety for pedestrians and sustainable transport, without altering existing traffic connections. The first section was already pedestrianized, and the second section has residual traffic, according to Mayor Inés Rey. The works, with a four-month execution period, will aim to cause minimal disruption.
The new surface will be granite slab, with black slabs to delineate the area for bicycles and scooters, in addition to ground signage. Pedestrians will have more space on both sides of the street, eliminating level differences to ensure universal accessibility. The project also includes the renovation of the sanitation network and the installation of new rainwater drainage systems.
