A group of researchers from the Marine Research Center (CIM) at the University of Vigo, specifically from the EPhysLab group, has received an award in the transfer and dissemination category of the Campus Auga Research, Transfer, and Scientific Dissemination Awards for their training on the Iber tool.

The eighth edition of the Campus Auga Research, Transfer, and Scientific Dissemination Awards recognized 13 works carried out by teaching and research staff and students from the University of Vigo. These awards, with a total endowment of 12,000 euros, aim to stimulate the university community's effort in the specialization lines of Campus Auga, an initiative funded by the Xunta de Galicia.
In the transfer and dissemination category, the award went to the course 'Iber as a tool for the Miño-Sil Hydrographic Confederation'. The work was developed by researchers from the CIM EPhysLab group: Diego Fernández, Moncho Gesteira, María Teresa de Castro, Orlando García, José González Cao, and Helena Barreiro.
The training focused on hydraulic and hydrological modeling with the hydrodynamic model Iber, covering its fundamentals, interface management, and practical applications, as well as auxiliary tools like the geographic information system QGIS.
The CIM holds the Cigus recognition from the Xunta de Galicia, and its activity is co-financed by the European Union through the Feder-21-27 program.
