The Mos City Council has greenlit a project of nearly half a million euros to renew the area surrounding the Santa María de Guizán church, enhancing local heritage.

The Local Government Board of the Mos City Council has approved the plan for the renovation of the surroundings of the Santa María de Guizán church, located in the parish of Guizán. The total investment amounts to nearly 500,000 euros, partially covered by funds from the Provincial Council of Pontevedra and supplemented with the municipality's own resources.
This intervention aims primarily to condition and improve the public space around the parish temple. The project, which will be carried out in different stages, will cover a total area of 2,303.75 square meters.
The first phase will focus on the church's atrium, with an intervention area of 422.97 square meters. The work in this zone will seek to enhance its immediate surroundings and adapt it for use.
The second phase, larger in scope with 1,262.45 square meters, will affect the platform around the atrium and a section of the Camiño do Pazo, between the rectory and the cemetery. It will include the renovation of pavements, modernization of service networks, improvement of public lighting, landscaping, and the installation of new urban furniture.
The technical project also includes improvements for rainwater drainage and the undergrounding of electrical and telephone networks, in order to adapt the space to current and future needs.
This renovation of the surroundings of the Santa María de Guizán church represents a step forward in valuing an area of great importance to the cultural heritage of the Mos City Council.
